Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), and the party's Vice Chairman, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, faced renewed charges in the cipher case. The special court formed under the Official Secrets Act 2023 indicted the two PTI leaders. Judge Abual Hasnat Zulqarnain delivered the verdict, formally charging the politicians. Both individuals have entered a plea of not guilty, denying their involvement in the alleged misuse of diplomatic cables for political purposes. This marks the second occasion on which the PTI leaders have been indicted in the case.
