Underage suspect files bail application in Lahore Defence accident case

The Lahore District and Sessions Court conducted a hearing on the post-arrest bail application of the underage driver accused of causing the deaths of six members of a single family in Lahore's Defence area. Afnan's bail plea was presented before Additional Sessions Judge Shahid Mahmood.

The petitioner's lawyer raised concerns, pointing out the inclusion of terrorism charges in the case, particularly Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act. The lawyer argued that with the addition of this section, the bail application might not be maintainable. In response, the court requested a report from the police regarding the inclusion of various sections in the case.

The primary suspect, Afnan, involved in the Defence, Lahore accident case, had earlier filed a post-arrest bail application with the sessions court. This application is based on the charges of murder outlined in the case report. The FIR registered at the Defence C police station includes provisions related to terrorism in connection with the tragic accident that claimed the lives of six family members.

Subsequently, the police presented suspect Afnan in the anti-terrorism court to seek his remand in the case.
