In the investigation into the Faizabad sit-in, the former Director-General of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) has once again avoided attending the inquiry commission's hearing.

Former Director General (DG) of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), Lieutenant General (retd) Faiz Hamid, has once again failed to attend the hearing of the Faizabad Dharna Inquiry Commission (FDIC), missing the session on Friday, according to sources.
This marks the second instance of the former ISI chief's absence from the ongoing inquiry. The commission, having previously summoned him in the second week of December and on December 29, has issued another summon notice through the Defence Ministry, instructing his cooperation.
Faiz Hamid is now required to provide his statement in the second week of January 2024, representing the third summons. The inquiry pertains to the Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan's (TLP) sit-in at the Faizabad flyover in Islamabad in November 2017.
The probe panel was established by the Supreme Court of Pakistan, chaired by retired IGP Akhtar Ali Shah, after rejecting the government's fact-finding committee report.
The commission has also questioned other individuals involved in the episode, including former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, ex-Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal, and former Secretary to PM Fawad Hasan Fawad.
