President Alvi urges government to permit fundraising event for Shaukat Khanum Hospital.

A day after the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration withdrew the No-Objection Certificate (NOC) issued to the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Trust for a fundraising event, President Dr. Arif Alvi has called for the revocation of the order, expressing concerns that it could impact the construction of the charitable hospital.
The ICT administration withdrew the NOC without providing a reason, as confirmed by a senior official from Shaukat Khanum Hospital.
President Alvi criticized the decision, stating that it could lead to delays in the hospital's construction and leave cancer patients vulnerable, likening it to a counterproductive action. He stressed the importance of encouraging private philanthropy, especially commending the outstanding efforts of Shaukat Khanum Cancer Hospital.
President Alvi highlighted the global recognition of the hospital's state-of-the-art facilities and its dedicated care for poor cancer patients. He called for the reversal of the NOC cancellation, emphasizing the significant cancer burden in Pakistan and the crucial role played by institutions like Shaukat Khanum Hospital.
