Sher Afzal Marwat of PTI was apprehended outside Lahore High Court (LHC).

Police reportedly apprehended Sher Afzal Khan Marwat, Senior Vice President of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI), outside the Lahore High Court (LHC), according to sources from News 24/7. The arrest was said to be conducted at GPO Chowk under Section 3 of the Punjab Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) Ordinance. Following his detention, Marwat was reportedly taken to an undisclosed location. The PTI, in response, denounced the arrest, attributing it to the concerns of those in power and decrying the act as indicative of lawlessness. The party demanded the immediate release of Sher Afzal Marwat, emphasizing that such arrests would not deter them from their pursuit of "haqeeqi azadi" or true freedom.

PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, expressing solidarity, condemned the arrest of the senior party leader. This incident follows a recent brief detention of Marwat in Batkhela, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which the police had initially denied. Sources revealed that during that episode, Marwat was heading to Bajaur when stopped at a checkpoint in Batkhela. A protest by a large number of PTI workers prompted law enforcement personnel to allow Marwat to proceed, with the DIG, Muhammad Ali Khan, clarifying that he was not arrested in Malakand division.
