Shahid Khaqan Abbasi requests the removal of his name from the Exit Control List (ECL).
On Wednesday, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, the former prime minister and dissatisfied PML-N leader, petitioned the Sindh High Court, requesting the exclusion of his name from the Exit Control List (ECL).

The experienced statesman initiated a legal action through his attorney.
In the filed writ petition, it argues that the restriction on Shahid Khaqan Abbasi's international travel infringes upon his constitutional rights.
The court had placed Abbasi on the Exit Control List (ECL) in connection with a case involving alleged illegal appointments at Pakistan State Oil (PSO).
It is noteworthy that Abbasi faced accusations of making unlawful appointments during his tenure as the petroleum minister in the PML-N government. In 2020, the anti-corruption watchdog lodged a reference against him.
Under the recent decision by the caretaker federal cabinet, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, whose name remains on the ECL, is permitted to travel abroad once a month. The cabinet approved this measure through a circulated summary on Monday, but it did not endorse a proposal for multiple foreign visits by Abbasi.
