In the PSL 9 draft, Imad Wasim is headed to Islamabad United, while Hassan Ali has been selected by Karachi Kings.

Amid ongoing speculations about numerous foreign players joining the ninth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), the trade involving Imad Wasim from the Karachi Kings to Islamabad United in exchange for Hassan Ali has been officially confirmed.

Imad, a key player in Karachi Kings' journey to their first PSL title in the fifth edition, has now become part of Islamabad United in the Platinum category. On the other hand, Hassan Ali, who represented Islamabad in the previous season, has joined the Karachi Kings under the Diamond category.

The PSL statement reveals that Karachi Kings acquired Islamabad United's first-round silver pick in the trade, with their second-round silver pick going to Islamabad.

In addition to this, the PSL 2024 Player Draft has seen changes in player categories. Mirza Tahir Baig of Lahore Qalandars, Rumman Raees of Islamabad United, and Mir Hamza of Karachi Kings have all moved from the gold category to silver, following franchise requests.

Responding to the trade, Imad Wasim expressed gratitude to the Karachi Kings' fans and management for their support throughout his "very special journey" with the team. He announced the conclusion of this chapter and eagerly anticipated joining his hometown team, Islamabad United. Imad pledged to give his best to repay the faith shown in him by Islamabad United, including Shadab Khan and owner Ali Naqvi, as he embarks on a new chapter with the franchise.
