Elections 2024: Nawaz Sharif advocates for the involvement of women in the political process.
On Wednesday, the 14th session of the Parliamentary Board of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) took place.
He mentioned that the consideration of candidates for PMLN tickets has been ongoing for the past three weeks, and there might be a need for additional time to complete the process.
Nawaz Sharif highlighted the positive economic indicators of the country in the past. In 2017, Pakistan's economy reportedly held a strong position in the Middle East, characterized by controlled inflation, a robust job market, and an increase in the population above the poverty line.
Reflecting on a period of significant progress, the PMLN leader attributed accomplishments like enhanced infrastructure, poverty reduction, and the introduction of new power sources and motorways to the governance of PML-N.
Expressing confidence in the future, he asserted the party's commitment to serving the people despite challenges. Regarding legal issues faced in the past, he mentioned the dismissal of various cases and convictions against him, his family, and the party. He questioned the motives behind certain decisions and emphasized the resilience of the PML-N in the face of adversity.
Discussing the role of women in national development, the president emphasized their crucial participation in various sectors, including health, employment, and education programs. He advocated for dispelling societal perceptions that hinder women's progress, stating that empowering women would significantly contribute to problem-solving within the country.
The PML-N president reiterated the party's dedication to its constituents and stressed the importance of a fair and just political landscape as preparations for the upcoming elections continue.
