On Friday, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) issued a statement regarding the health condition of Abrar Ahmed. The leg-spinner had reported discomfort in his right leg after bowling eight overs during the third day of a four-day game against Prime Minister’s XI.

The 25-year-old leg-spinner, Abrar Ahmed, was sidelined during the game against Prime Minister’s XI after experiencing discomfort in his right leg, prompting a decision to undergo an MRI scan. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) stated that additional details would be shared following an assessment of the MRI reports by the medical panel. In the ongoing four-day match, Abrar bowled a total of 27 overs, part of Pakistan's preparation for the upcoming three-match Test series against Australia scheduled from December 14, 2023, to January 7, 2024.
Providing insights into the match proceedings, Prime Minister’s XI resumed their innings at 149-2 in 60 overs with Matt Renshaw and Cameron Green at the crease. Pakistan's right-arm seamer, Faheem Ashraf, made an impactful contribution by dismissing Green (46 runs off 96 balls with 3 boundaries), breaking an 86-run partnership. Nathan McSweeney joined Renshaw, and the duo built a commanding 120-run partnership, steadily reducing the trail.
Imam-ul-Haq, brought into the attack by the Pakistan captain, claimed his second first-class wicket as Mir Hamza took a remarkable catch to break the formidable partnership. McSweeney departed after scoring 40 from 105 deliveries, including three boundaries. Renshaw's resilient innings of an unbeaten 136 runs from 337 balls, featuring eight boundaries and a six, kept the pressure on the Pakistan bowlers throughout the day.
As the Prime Minister’s XI concluded the day with a reduced trail of just 24 runs, Renshaw and Beau Webster (21 not out off 86 balls with 1 six) will start Day four in a commanding position, further consolidating their team's advantage in the ongoing match.
