Pakistan is behind Australia by 355 runs in the first Test after Jamal's impressive debut, where he claimed six wickets.
On Friday, debutant seamer Aamer Jamal showcased remarkable pace and confidence, securing a six-wicket haul to aid Pakistan in dismissing Australia for 487 on the second day of the initial Test in Perth.

In the afternoon session, Pakistan faced 53 overs and concluded the day at 132-2. Abdullah Shafique led the scoring with 42 runs, but the visitors trail by 355 runs following David Warner's commanding 164 and Mitchell Marsh's 90, which contributed to Australia's formidable first-innings total.
Bowling coach Umar Gul expressed satisfaction with Aamer Jamal's debut performance, highlighting the expectations of a prolonged and impactful spell, particularly in terms of pace. Jamal claimed six wickets but had a slightly expensive economy rate. Nonetheless, he proved his worth by dismissing key players like Warner and Travis Head on the first day.
During the morning session, Jamal's skillful deliveries led to the dismissal of keeper Alex Carey (34) and Mitchell Starc (12) by uprooting their stumps. Fellow debutant Khurram Shahzad (2-83) contributed to the effort by clean-bowling Marsh after lunch, paving the way for Jamal to wrap up the Australian tail. Captain Pat Cummins and Nathan Lyon fell to Jamal in the slips for single-digit scores.
Pakistan's opening pair, Shafique and Imamul Haq (38 not out), displayed cautious yet resilient batting, frustrating the Australian side with a partnership of 74 runs at a deliberate pace. Spinner Nathan Lyon (1-40), returning from a calf injury, broke the partnership by dismissing Shafique, who edged the ball to Warner at leg-slip.
New captain Shan Masood added an entertaining 30 runs before falling to Starc, and the nightwatchman Khurram Shahzad (seven not out) remained at the crease with Imam to close out the day.
Reflecting on the day, Australian wicketkeeper Carey acknowledged that although they would have preferred more wickets, they were content with the total they achieved at the beginning of play.
Meanwhile, veteran spinner Nathan Lyon moved closer to the elite 500-wicket club, reaching his 497th Test wicket after Abdullah Shafique's dismissal, inching toward the historic milestone shared by only seven other players.
