The government has decreased the costs associated with the Hajj pilgrimage.
The government has launched a 20-day Hajj package, aiming to enhance the affordability of the pilgrimage for the citizens.

On Wednesday, Caretaker Federal Minister for Religious Affairs, Dr. Aneeq Ahmed, announced a notable reduction of Rs0.1 million in government expenses for Hajj, ensuring that essential facilities remain uncompromised. As part of the improved services, each pilgrim will now receive a 30kg suitcase, and female pilgrims will be provided scarfs (Abaya) adorned with the national flag, marking a significant first-time provision.
In a press conference held at the Haji Camp Karachi, Dr. Ahmed emphasized the launch of a mobile application designed to assist pilgrims. This app will offer navigation support and facilitate constant communication with relevant officials. Initially available in English and Urdu, the app will later incorporate various regional languages.
Highlighting advancements in the Hajj process, Dr. Ahmed disclosed that Islamabad and Karachi are now integrated into Saudi Arabia's Road to Makkah project. This integration enables Karachi airport to streamline the immigration process for Hujjaj, streamlining their journey.
The government has also introduced a 20-day short Hajj package, aiming to enhance the financial accessibility of Hajj for citizens. Special efforts are underway to ensure that Pakistani Hujjaj are accommodated in tents at Old Mina due to the challenges posed by the distance to New Mina.
Addressing the allocation of Hajj seats, Dr. Ahmed mentioned that Pakistan has secured 179,000 Hajj seats, with half reserved for private Hajj operators. The Ministry of Religious Affairs will oversee these operators to ensure the well-being of pilgrims, holding the ministry responsible for any issues faced by those opting for Hajj through private operators.
Dr. Ahmed also highlighted the ongoing renovation work at the Haji Camp Karachi building, underscoring the commitment to enhancing pilgrimage facilities. Regarding expenses, he clarified that the announced package excludes Qurbani (sacrifice) expenses during Hajj.
Additionally, intending pilgrims opting for a shorter stay in Medina will receive a further reduction of Rs. 35,000 in Hajj expenses.
