Pakistan declares official holidays for the year 2024.
On Wednesday, the Cabinet Division released a notification outlining public and optional holidays throughout Pakistan for the upcoming year 2024, as reported by News 24/7.
As per the issued notification, the 2024 public holiday schedule comprises a total of 11 days, each commemorating significant events in Pakistan.
Key dates such as Kashmir Day on February 5, Pakistan Day on March 23, and Independence Day on August 14 hold particular importance.
Religious observances encompass Eid-ul-Fitr on April 10, 11, and 12, Eid-ul-Azha on June 17, 18, and 19, and Ashura (9th and 10th Muharram) on July 16 and 17.
For Muslim festivals, the holiday dates are tentative, contingent on the sighting of the moon. A separate notification from the Cabinet Division will specify these dates.
Additionally, certain days will be designated as Bank Holidays, during which banks and financial institutions will be closed to the public but not to their employees.
Optional Holidays are also included in the schedule.
