In a statement released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir stated that Pakistan rejects bloc politics and aims to maintain balanced relationships with all friendly nations, including China and the United States. The COAS conveyed this stance during an open discussion with members of prominent US think tanks and media in Washington.

General Munir emphasized that Pakistan, viewed as a significant player both geopolitically and geoeconomically, seeks to position itself as a connectivity hub and a gateway to Central Asia and beyond. However, he reiterated the country's avoidance of bloc politics, emphasizing a commitment to balanced international relationships.

During the interaction, the COAS presented Pakistan's perspective on regional security, transnational terrorism, and the importance of maintaining strategic stability in South Asia. He expressed Pakistan's desire to enhance bilateral engagement with the United States through a long-term, multi-domain partnership. General Munir reported positive and forward-looking interactions with political and military leadership during his visit to the US, foreseeing further strengthening of the relationship.

Highlighting Pakistan's longstanding role against transnational terrorism for regional stability and global peace, the COAS affirmed the nation's unwavering commitment to continue the fight against terrorism. He stressed the need for a resolution of the Kashmir Issue in accordance with the aspirations of the people of Kashmir and the UN Security Council Resolutions, emphasizing that Kashmir is internationally recognized as a dispute, and no unilateral action can change this status against the wishes of the affected population.

Furthermore, General Munir underscored the immediate need to end the suffering in Gaza, provide humanitarian assistance, and implement a two-state solution for lasting peace in the region.
